UNIQUE FRIEND DATES TO GO ON THIS SUMMER

Remember when you were 14 and wrote a “Summer Bucket List”? There’s something about being fully vaccinated and (hopefully) looking at the pandemic enter the rear view window that brings back my teenage self’s need to fit in all the fun. Like me, you might feel the need to spend more quality time with your friends and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts. Here’s some date ideas to get you started!

PACK A PICNIC

If you’ve been on TikTok or Pinterest lately, everyone seems to be going on picnics. Make your spread as elaborate or simple as you like, but I’d recommend including cheese, bread, fresh fruit and wine!

TRIVIA NIGHT AT A BAR

Calling all Jeopardy fans! Grab a bunch of friends and try your luck at a local bar’s trivia night - you might even win a prize.

GO THRIFTING

Not only does thrift shopping bring a thrill from finding unique pieces of clothing, but you also get a mood boost from shopping secondhand - a sustainable choice!

GO AXE THROWING

Looking to get out of the heat and do a new activity? Axe throwing is sure to get you out of your comfort zone. Urban Axes has locations in cities all around the US.

BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN CITY

As a Boston native who went to school in the South, I often have friends visit from out of town. I use that time to experience things in the city I might not do otherwise, like a duck boat tour or the Bunker Hill Monument. Find something “touristy” to do in your own city and embrace it.

START A BOOK EXCHANGE

This one’s for the long distance friends who are also book lovers. If you’re looking for a new way to connect other than a FaceTime date but you don’t want to commit to a book club, send a friend a book you love. When they finish it, have them send it back to you with a favorite book of their’s. And the cycle continues!

HAVE A TIKTOK INSPIRED PHOTOSHOOT

Why is it that we always seem to have no pictures with our best friends? Cure it by letting TikTok content creators inspire you to do an outside the box photoshoot. Whether you’re going to a parking garage, bringing a mirror outside, or bringing different outfits, it will be more fun with your friends - and you’ll have the pictures forever!
