NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE ABOUT WORK: STREAMING

With all that is happening around the world, we thought we would share some things that aren't so work focused.

First up, finding an unwinding method. I love finding a TV show I can binge watch after-hours. I just finished “The Bold Type” and loved how it made me laugh as well as think. Finding an outlet via Netflix, Audible, or any other streaming service can make nighttime still feel detached from work or school.

Here are some of Holdette’s Fav Netflix/TV/Movies to stream:

EASY: From director and creator Joe Swanberg, this Netflix-original comedy anthology series explores diverse Chicago characters, modern romance technology and culture. Scenarios include a married couple hoping to reignite their sex life, a couple looking to spice things up with another woman, and middle-aged dating. The series features an impressive array of stars, including Jake Johnson of "New Girl," comic Hannibal Buress, actor Orlando Bloom, actress/model Emily Ratajkowski and actor Dave Franco.

THE GOOD PLACE: When Eleanor Shellstrop finds herself in the afterlife, she's both relieved and surprised that she's made it into the Good Place. But it doesn't take long for Eleanor to realize she's there by mistake. She hides in plain sight from the Good Place's architect, Michael, and his all-knowing assistant, Janet. Her seemingly perfect neighbors, Tahani and Jason, and open-hearted soul mate, Chidi, help her realize that it's never too late to change. With the help of her new friends -- and a few enemies -- Eleanor becomes determined to shed her old way of life in hopes of discovering a new one in the afterlife.

SEX EDUCATION: Socially awkward high school student Otis may not have much experience in the lovemaking department, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex-ed course -- living with mom Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis has become a reluctant expert on the subject. When his classmates learn about his home life, Otis decides to use his insider knowledge to improve his status at school, so he teams with whip-smart bad girl Maeve to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates' problems. But through his analysis of teenage sexuality, Otis realizes that he may need some therapy of his own.

MODERN LOVE (AMAZON PRIME): This anthology series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, as well as its effects on the human connection. Each episode brings to life a different story that has been inspired by the newspaper's popular Modern Love column. The romantic comedy series features a star-studded cast that includes such notable actors as Jane Alexander, Emmy winner Tina Fey, Andy Garcia, Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel and John Slattery.

CHEER: Cheer is an American television docuseries airing on Netflix starting in January 2020. The six-part series follows the nationally ranked 40-member Navarro College Bulldogs Cheer Team from Corsicana, Texas under the direction of coach Monica Aldama as they prepare to compete in the National Cheerleading Championship held annually in Daytona, Florida. The episodes focus especially on five individual Cheer Team members and include elements of the history of cheerleading including the formation of the National Cheerleaders Associations (NCA).

LOVE IS BLIND: Singles try to find a match and fall in love -- without ever seeing each other face-to-face, as emotional connection attempts to conquer physical attraction.

100 HUMANS: One hundred people from diverse backgrounds participate in experiments exploring age, sex, happiness, and other aspects of being human.
